Dartmouth Hopkins Center for the Arts
Dartmouth College is a private Ivy League research university in Hanover, New Hampshire. Our team at Arup was tasked with re-imagining the Arts at Dartmouth College for the 21st Century. We conducted stakeholder interviews, spatial observations, and workshops with students, faculty, staff, alumni, board members, and community members.
From this research we identified a set of goals unique to Dartmouth’s liberal arts and research focus, centered around enabling student creation of art. We then crafted strategic recommendations that span across buildings, curriculum, programming, and operations to fulfill this vision. Our work was centered around the Hopkins Center for the Arts, and also considered the interconnection between the arts buildings and other parts of campus.
One of the deliverables we produced was a donor document which contributed towards raising millions of donor funds for designing and building the Hop Center.
Developed while at Arup.
